J & J Bait and Tackle

After nearly 50 years of serving the fishing community from our location on Crescent Street in Brockton, J&J Bait and Tackle has officially closed its doors.

I started this business when I was just 14 years old, digging nightcrawlers on golf courses after it rained and catching shiners in traps. I kept my bait in bathtubs in my parents' garage on Court Street in Brockton, never imagining that what started as a kid trying to make a few dollars would turn into a lifelong business.

In 1978, I moved the business to its location on Crescent Street in Brockton, where J&J Bait and Tackle has operated ever since.

Over the decades, I've had the opportunity to work with countless customers, businesses, and friends. From the local fishermen stopping in for bait and tackle to the wholesale customers and bait shops we've supplied throughout the years, I want to sincerely thank every one of you.

To our retail customers, thank you for making us part of your fishing trips, sharing your stories, and supporting our family business. To our wholesale customers and the businesses that trusted us to supply their bait, thank you for your loyalty and for allowing us to be part of your success.

I also want to thank all of the employees who have been part of J&J over the years. You've played an important role in keeping this business going, and I appreciate everything you've contributed along the way.

It's hard to put into words what it means to close the doors on a business that's been such a big part of my life. There have been a lot of early mornings, long days, hard work, and great memories along the way. But more than anything, there have been some incredible people.

From my family to yours, thank you for all the support, friendships, and memories over the years.

It's been a great run, and I couldn't have done it without you.
